The University of Illinois has developed Intelligent Multisensor Fusion technology that has been implemented as a self-aiming camera. The patented technology allows a moveable video camera to receive and process input from multiple sensors, then automatically aim itself at a target that is the most probable source of that input. Used in combination with EyeNet's vehicle recognition software, SAC-enabled cameras can locate and begin recording incidents involving vehicles. EyeNet's software logs identifying features of the vehicle or vehicles involved, such as make, model, color and license plate number. This information can be used in conjunction with any Windows(TM)-based database to automatically trigger alerts (such as an Amber Alert AmĀ·ber Alert

"This is a tremendous opportunity for EyeNet," said Thomas Tarach, president of EyeNet. "Our collaboration on this project brings with it important funding opportunities for both entities and great support from the Illinois contingent of the U.S. legislature. By working with the largest university in the state, we can bring jobs and revenue to this region and the university."

The university ultimately looks to license the technology to EyeNet, who would integrate the invention into their product lines and market it to their expanding customer base.
