Eye Dynamics Partners with Circadian Technologies to Conduct Market Research on the Commercialization of SafetyScope(TM).

TORRANCE, Calif. -- Eye Dynamics, Inc. (OTCBB OTCBB

See OTC Bulletin Board (OTCBB).
:EYDY) announced today that it has retained Circadian circadian /cir·ca·di·an/ (ser-ka´de-an) denoting a 24-hour period; see under rhythm.

Technologies, Inc. (Stoneham, MA) to assist in the commercialization of SafetyScope(TM) - the company's performance system designed to evaluate human safety and productivity in the workplace by detecting individual impairment.

Circadian (www.circadian.com) is the leading international research and consulting firm Noun 1. consulting firm - a firm of experts providing professional advice to an organization for a fee

that assists managers with reducing the costs, risks and liabilities of extended hour (shift work) operations. Circadian's mission is to empower its clients to effectively use extended hours operations to compete in the global 24/7 economy.

Eye Dynamic's SafetyScope(TM) serves as a fitness-for-duty screening tool, using a brief, non-invasive and inexpensive test to assess pupil change and eye movement parameters. The protocol is based on that used by law enforcement for the past 30+ years in the roadside Standardized Field Sobriety Test. SafetyScope's test results are compared to an individual's baseline, and are instantly computed and reported as a Pass or Fail result.

Circadian will conduct management surveys and interviews with safety and risk managers as well as medical and HR directors to develop current market information. Detailed case studies from the respondents will assist Eye Dynamics in identifying 'early adopters' of the technology from their database of approximately 6000 companies across various industries and regions.

Fitness-for-duty testing in the workplace is usually associated with alcohol and drug testing, and such testing is federally mandated for certain safety-critical jobs. SafetyScope(TM) goes beyond traditional alcohol/drug testing by providing real-time assessment of human impairment (as opposed to an intoxication intoxication, condition of body tissue affected by a poisonous substance. Poisonous materials, or toxins, are to be found in heavy metals such as lead and mercury, in drugs, in chemicals such as alcohol and carbon tetrachloride, in gases such as carbon monoxide, and  marker), regardless of its cause (i.e., fatigue, alcohol, drug, other). As embodied in SafetyScope(TM), the new concept of impairment detection for fitness-for-duty testing has several major advantages over traditional alcohol and drug testing. The impairment detection technology embodied in SafetyScope(TM) is non-invasive, gives instant results, and is more cost-effective.

"Fitness-for-duty testing can help our clients to achieve their productivity goals by reducing the immense costs related to human impairment. So far, impairment detection devices have not made it to the standard toolbox See toolkit and toolbar.  of mainstream safety managers because of accuracy, cost or adequate marketing strategies. Eye Dynamics with its SafetyScope(TM) device is in the unique position to pioneer this field and reach a potentially enormous market," said William Sirois, Senior V.P. & COO of Circadian.

Moreover, Eye Dynamics' recent announcement of its intent to acquire OrthoNetx, Inc. brings a "smart device" information technology platform to SafetyScope(TM) for added privacy, information security and protection of workers' rights. The company will now be able to provide a turnkey fitness-for-duty testing solution to employers. The acquisition of OrthoNetx, when completed, will provide significant financial resources to implement the strategic plan to commercialize SafetyScope(TM).

Worker impairment and related workplace testing is particularly relevant for safety-critical jobs in extended hours of operations. Here, the main source of worker impairment is fatigue. For example, there is ample evidence of fatigue-related errors and accidents among truck drivers or medical personnel - professions that directly impact public safety. Fatigue-related impairment is not only common, but its ramifications ramifications nplAuswirkungen pl  can be more severe than some other forms of impairment. For example, truck accidents due to the driver falling asleep are usually much more costly than other accidents since the driver is usually not taking any evasive action Noun 1. evasive action - an action aimed at evading an opponent

SafetyScope(TM) was evaluated at Circadian in a previous pilot laboratory study with an overnight sleep deprivation sleep deprivation Sleep disorders A prolonged period without the usual amount of sleep. Results showed that 100% of the non-passed (failed) SafetyScope(TM) tests occurred either at night or during the mid-afternoon when diminished alertness was documented.
