Eyadema, obstacle to peace.


Your magazine has for years presented balanced and fair reports on my country, Togo. But your report on the recent elections in Togo Elections in Togo gives information on election and election results in Togo.

Togo elects on national level a head of state - the president - and a legislature. The president is elected for a five year term by the people.
 lacked accuracy and credibility.

Your reporter, Ebow Godwin's view that the fear of anarchy ANARCHY. The absence of all political government; by extension, it signifies confusion in government.  and civil war frightened fright·en

 the people into thinking of keeping President Eyadema in power, is not only unfounded, but an insult to the Togolese, who have for years suffered at the hands of Eyadema.

No people in any country would willingly want to suffer the brutality of any president, and keep such a person in power, (as Ebow put it "the devil they know"), just because they want to avoid a civil war or bloodbath blood·bath also blood bath

It is unfortunate that Ebow, who has covered Togolose politics for years, seemed to have taken the side of Eyadema's manipulations, thus putting his credibility as a journalist in question.

The truth is that nothing will make the Togolese people think of keeping Eyadema in power for fear of political chaos, rather it is Eyadema's continued presence that is an obstacle to peace in Togo.
