ExxonMobil unveils new family of metallocene EP elastomers.

In the first half of next year, Houston-based ExxonMobil Chemical Co. plans to introduce a new family of propylene-ethylene specialty elastomers made with metallocene catalyst Metallocene catalyst

A transition-metal atom sandwiched between ring structures having a well-defined single catalytic site and well-understood molecular structure used to produce uniform polyolefins with unique structures and physical properties.
technology and a new solution polymerization Solution polymerization is a method of industrial polymerization. In this procedure, a monomer is dissolved in a non-reactive solvent that contains a catalyst. The heat released by the reaction is absorbed by the solvent, and so the reaction rate is reduced.  process. Dubbed dub 1

Vistamaxx, the new TPEs are said to offer properties beyond those obtainable with metallocene plastomers such as the company's Exact products. Advantages of Vistamaxx include improved elasticity, durability, and softness. The new elastomers could compete with such materials as SEBS and polyurethane in cast films, fibers, sheeting, and polyolefin modification (including formulation of TPOs). Markets range from automotive interior and exterior parts to nonwovens, packaging, personal care, and wire/cable.

Vistamaxx is described as a special semi-crystalline structure that is very compatible with other polymers and very easy to process. It could be used on its own or in blends with other polymers. Processability in cast film lines is said to be similar to polypropylene and polyethylene. Films have been produced with a density of less than 1.0 g/cc, elongation elongation, in astronomy, the angular distance between two points in the sky as measured from a third point. The elongation of a planet is usually measured as the angular distance from the sun to the planet as measured from the earth.  of more than 500%, tensile strength tensile strength
