ExxonMobil and Volunteer Center Kick Off Annual Community Summer Jobs Program.

ExxonMobil Foundation announced today it has provided grants of more than $175,000 to fund 75 student internships in the nonprofit sector for the 2000 ExxonMobil Community Summer Jobs Program.

The Dallas program's 10th Anniversary kick-off reception will be held Wednesday, June 7, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Dallas Horticulture Center in Fair Park. The featured speakers will be Douglas Adams

During the reception, ExxonMobil and the Volunteer Center will present the eighth annual Community Champion Awards to the following former interns: Renata Cerqueira, Sarah H. Plunkett, and Jamye Robinson. These Community Champions are former ExxonMobil Community Summer Jobs Program interns presently pursuing full-time careers in the nonprofit sector.

ExxonMobil founded the Community Summer Jobs Program in 1971. Since beginning the Dallas program in 1991, ExxonMobil has provided more than $1.5 million in grants to place more than 700 college students in internships with community agencies.
