 announced today that two ExxonMobil Masterpiece Theatre productions received the George Foster Peabody

 Award at the 59th annual awards ceremony in New York on May 22.

The Peabody awards program -- the broadcast and cable industry's most prestigious -- is administered by the University of Georgia's Henry W. Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication The Henry W. Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication is a college within the University of Georgia (UGA) in Athens, Georgia, United States. Grady College is one of the oldest and most distinguished communication programs in the country. .

Peabody Awards are given solely on the basis of merit by a 15-person national advisory board whose members include television critics, broadcast and cable industry executives, and experts in culture and fine arts. This year, a total of 36 awards were given from nearly 1,250 entries.

Productions receiving the Peabodys were Lost for Words, a story of the great love between an elderly mother and her son; and, A Rather English Marriage A Rather English Marriage is a novel by Angela Lambert, first published in 1992, and later adapted for television by Andrew Davies for the BBC.
