Extraction Systems Promotes Mark Phelps to Manager of Metrology Business Group.

FRANKLIN, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 8, 2000

Extraction Systems Inc. today announced that Mark Phelps has been promoted to manager of its metrology business group. In this role, Phelps will support the company's effort to deliver exceptional metrology to customers while continuing the unit's profitability. Phelps will report directly to Devon Kinkead, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Extraction Systems.

Phelps joined Extraction Systems in 1998, most recently holding the position of senior electrical engineer. In this role, he was responsible for the electrical and electronic design of the metrology product line, including the TMB-RTM (Total Molecular Base Real Time Monitor). Phelps played a key role in completing the system designs of the recently introduced TMB-150.

Prior to Extraction Systems, Phelps worked with MKS (Mortice Kern Systems Inc., Waterloo, Ontario, www.mks.com) A software company that specializes in programming tools and utilities for a variety of platforms.
