The Extensis Products Group of Creativepro.com, Inc. today shipped the final version of Suitcase(TM) 9, featuring expanded font management functionality for Macintosh operating systems.

A Windows version of Suitcase 9 will be available in July. A complete rewrite, Suitcase 9 is the only cross-platform font manager with integrated server capability, providing the most comprehensive solution for managing and organizing fonts, whether on individual workstations or across workgroups. Each version of Suitcase 9 will also include a copy of Suitcase 9 Server and three free server connections.

Suitcase 9 simplifies the steps involved in managing fonts by consolidating all controls within a single dialog box. From this single dialog users can quickly turn fonts on and off, either on a temporary basis or as a permanent selection. In addition they can create customized font sets, allowing them to sort fonts into groups for easy activation. Once created, adding to these font sets can be accomplished in a matter of seconds -- users simply select a font and then drag it into the designated font set.

Suitcase 9 also takes the work out of the often-tedious process of viewing and selecting fonts. All fonts can be instantly previewed, either individually or as an entire font set. Suitcase 9 offers users four convenient ways to preview these fonts: alphabetically, QuickType(TM), paragraph and waterfall. Users also have the ability to print sample pages for each font, providing them with a hard copy for future reference.

With Suitcase 9, Windows users will enjoy the same font management performance that Macintosh users have come to rely on. Since Suitcase 9 will be fully compatible with both operating systems, it delivers consistent font management capability to cross-platform workgroups. Pricing and Availability

Suitcase 9 is available for an estimated price of $99.95. Upgrades from previous versions of Suitcase will be $49.95. Competitive upgrades from DiamondSoft Font Reserve and Adobe ATM Deluxe will be $59.95. French and German versions of Suitcase 9 will be available Q3 2000. Suitcase 9 supports Mac OS 8 through OS9 and the Windows version will support windows 98 and 2000.
