Extensis Ships Mask Pro 3; Improved Masking Technology Enables Creation of Flawless, Real-Life Masks.

Extensis today announced the immediate availability of Mask Pro 3, a significant upgrade to Extensis' award winning masking
1. The concealment or the screening of one sensory process or sensation by another.
2. An opaque covering used to camouflage the metal parts of a prosthesis.
 and selection tool software for Adobe Photoshop.

A pioneer in the plug-in arena, Extensis has once again redefined masking and selecting capabilities in Adobe Photoshop. Key features of this latest release include new color decontamination technology and color selection tools, as well as a more robust and intuitive toolset. The foundation of this major revision is an entirely new masking engine, allowing users to flawlessly handle the most complex masking jobs.

Boxed Macintosh versions of Mask Pro 3 will be available in late February. A Windows version will follow mid-year 2003; international versions are slated for release shortly after. Pricing and Availability

The English version of Mask Pro 3 will be available for download from the Extensis web site in February 2003, and is available for a suggested retail price starting at $199.95US for full product and $99.95US for upgrades from previous versions of Mask Pro. In addition, a competitive upgrade to Mask Pro 3 is available for a suggested retail price starting at $169.95.

A Windows version of Mask Pro 3 will be available later this year, followed by French, German and Japanese Macintosh versions in Q3 2003.

System Requirements

Mask Pro 3 for Mac supports OS X (v 10.1.5 or higher) as well as OS 9.2.2, Adobe Photoshop 6.0.1 and Photoshop 7.01 and higher, Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 and requires a Macintosh PowerPC G3 (processor) PowerPC G3 - A processor chip from Apple Computer, Inc..

Described by Apple as "the third generation in the development of advanced processor technology" the first PowerPC G3 products were launched in 1997. It is specifically optimised for the Macintosh Operating System and uses backside cache to improve performance. The PowerPC G3 has been used by Apple in notebook, desktop and server products.
