ExpressDoctors.com Becomes the First Web Site to Dispatch Doctors Directly to Patient.

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 14, 1999--

Immediate help for Non-life Threatening Ailments

ExpressDoc, Inc. (dba ExperssDoctors, Inc.) announced today the launch of ExpressDoctors.com, the first Web site to allow patients the ability to request a doctor over the Internet and receive a visit to their home, office, or hotel, usually within one hour.

ExpressDoctors.com, which caters to people suffering only from non-life threatening ailments, offers a convenient and cost-effective alternative to trying to make an appointment at a doctor's office or visiting an emergency room. It does so by providing Internet and telephone access to its 24-hour call center that has thousands of available doctors across the U.S.

The doctors accessible through ExpressDoctors.com are board-certified, hospital-affiliated and State-licensed. In addition, ExpressDoctors.com checks all physicians' credentials through the American Medical Association American Medical Association (AMA), professional physicians' organization (founded 1847). Its goals are to protect the interests of American physicians, advance public health, and support the growth of medical science.  (AMA (Automatic Message Accounting) The recording and reporting of telephone calls within a telephone system. It includes the calling and called parties and start and stop times of the call. ).

"Patients require medical assistance 1.5 billion times annually in the U.S. yet there has been no centralized system to help them find a doctor during times when their own doctor isn't immediately available," according to Rob Kelly, ExpressDoctors' Chief Executive Officer, "Many people are unable to get a same-day doctor's appointment during normal office-hours; and there are few choices after-hours other than a typically uncomfortable, expensive and lengthy visit to an emergency room."

The ExpressDoctors system allows patients to request a doctor directly through www.ExpressDoctors.com by filling out a simple request form. Patients then receive a reply within 3 minutes from the company's 24-hour call center with information on an available doctor and how soon they can visit the patient. Patients preferring to use the telephone can request a doctor through a toll-free telephone number A toll-free, Freecall, Freephone, or 800 number is a special telephone number, in that the called party is charged the cost of the calls by the telephone carrier, instead of the calling party.  at 1-877-DOC-2-YOU.

The basic charge for using ExpressDoctors is $150 from 8am to 10pm on weekdays and $195 at other times and is reimbursable through many health insurance programs. ExpressDoctors' physicians provide patients with a form to help them receive reimbursement from their health insurance companies.

For travelers visiting the U.S. from overseas, the ExpressDoctors service is available through over 20 leading travel insurance companies.

Testimonials from users of the ExpressDoctors service include:

"Who'd believe that you could have a doctor come to our house

and administer to my 71 year old mother who was visiting from

Europe and suffers from sciatica sciatica (sīăt`ĭkə), severe pain in the leg along the sciatic nerve and its branches. It may be caused by injury or pressure to the base of the nerve in the lower back, or by metabolic, toxic, or infectious disease. . Rather than go to an

emergency room (20 miles away) and wait for relief,

ExpressDoctors dispatched Dr Soloman Diaz who was at the

house within 45 minutes... How economical and efficient and

what a relief for mom...We were so happy with ExpressDoctors

and will recommend you to all our traveling relatives." --

Maria Coumez, Toledo, OH

"You guys are the greatest! We had a gig in Chicago and Tommy

(our lead singer) came down with laryngitis laryngitis, inflammation of the mucous membrane of the voice box, or larynx, usually accompanied by hoarseness, sore throat, and coughing. Acute laryngitis is often a secondary bacterial infection triggered by infecting agents causing such illnesses as colds, . We called

ExpressDoctors from on-board the plane. We discussed the

problem and your Dr. Wolf met us at the hotel upon our

arrival. Needless to say Tommy was great, the concert was

successful. We were simply blown away by ExpressDoctors." --

Doug Avenue, "The Gills" LA

"ExpressDoctors, you saved our trip. My sprained ankle was

taped up within an hour of my call to ExpressDoctors and we

continued on to LA. Our hotel recommended your company and I

certainly will do the same." -- Colin Everts Everts may refer to:
