Express Auctions announced the $907,500 sale of 25 West Street, a school building, in Staten Island Staten Island (1990 pop. 378,977), 59 sq mi (160 sq km), SE N.Y., in New York Bay, SW of Manhattan, forming Richmond co. of New York state and the borough of Staten Island of New York City.  on behalf of the New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
 Urban League.

The 15,750 s/f building, located in the North Shore section of Staten Island, was purchased by the United Talmudical Academy of Brooklyn.

The New York Urban League, using word-of-mouth and industry contacts had attempted to sell the building for about five years before hiring Express--who closed the sale in two months.

Express Auctions was introduced to the New York Urban League through commercial real estate firm Besen & Associates.

The New York Urban League will use the proceeds of the sale to support many of its 20 programs, ranging from youth education to supporting young mothers to helping those suffering from H.I.V.
