Express auction's $310,000 success.


Express Auction, a national real estate auction company, announced that it successfully auctioned two buildings in downtown New Britain New Britain, city, United States
New Britain, industrial city (1990 pop. 75,491), Hartford co., central Conn.; settled c.1686, inc. 1871. The tin shops and brassworks in the city were established in the 18th cent.
: the Tranchida Building, at 47 Main St., for $550,000; and the B.C. Porter's Furniture Building, at 222 Main St., for $310,000.

The Tranchida Building, owned by Richard Tranchida, was sold to 47 Main Street LLC (Logical Link Control) See "LANs" under data link protocol.

Diaz plans on creating a Hispanic grocery store at the location.

For the past 10 years, 47 Main St. housed a Fuji color processing lab.

Oren Klein represented Express Auction and Bruce Cagenello represented Prudential.

"After having been on the market for several months, Prudential Connecticut Realty and Mr. Tranchida called us in to market the property via auction," said Klein, vice president of sales with the Northeast division of Express Auction.

"We were able to get the word out quickly, generate substantial interest in the property and get a fair price for Mr. Tranchida."

The B.C. Porter's Furniture Building, owned by 222 Main Street LLC, was sold to Natan Stempler, who plans on opening a National Discount Stores franchise. Most recently the street level storefront was occupied by BD's, a beauty and discount store.

The five-story, 54,000 s/f property features a full basement and two elevators, one passenger and one freight.

A 25,000 s/f warehouse was added to the rear of the original building in 1942.

There are also 10 parking spaces, as well as metered parking in the front and back.
