Export of Macedonian wine on the rise: for the time being, the largest exporter to Russia is Skovin winery, which is negotiating with one of the biggest companies for export expansion.

Greater promotion of the Macedonian wines in Russia is needed in order for them to fight the competition from the Balkan and South America, Russian journalists who paid a visit to winery Skovin say. Their assessment is that the Macedonian wines can infiltrate the Russian market as they are competitive with quality and price.

"The Macedonian wine is very good, tasty and has a great perspective for export to the Russian market. In Russia, there is lack of quality white, sweet, half-white and half-dry white wines," says Russian reporter Anton Shapovalov. Despite the high export expenses, the wineries want to infiltrate the Russian market as soon as possible because when this country becomes part of the World Trade Organization, the competitiveness will be even greater.

For the time being, the largest exporter to Russia is Skovin winery, which is negotiating with one of the biggest companies for export expansion.

Following the visit of the Macedonian delegation to China, Deputy PM Vladimir Pesevski announced that a Chinese wine distribution company, importing wine from around the world and having more 600 distribution units, expressed satisfaction with the quality of the Macedonian wine.
