The company was founded by George Taylor and Jim Blomgren in 1993. The company's plan was to use BiCMOS technology to produce very fast processors for the Apple Computer market. today announced a reduction in its work force by approximately 25 percent. The reduction is across all functions within the company. After this reduction, Exponential employs approximately 70 people in San Jose and in Austin, Texas. Exponential, which has a fully functional 410 MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock.
