Explode that Spreadsheet! Flush Away Your Boss's E-mail!! With ScreenToyz From Creative Insights.

CUPERTINO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 5, 1995--Ever wanted to blow up your tedious PC spreadsheet?

Flush your boss's e-mail down the bowl? Or maybe, compact your database by stomping on it Trashmaster style?

ScreenToyz from Creative Insights let you take your pick of these activities. These zany "computer toys" feature cartoon-like multi-media software that interacts with equally wacky hardware. The software looks like the Saturday morning cartoons that inspired them except they're on the PC, and they interact with zany hardware that behaves as if it stepped out of the cartoon to come to life on your desk.

There are three beguiling, amusing and slightly mischievous ScreenToyz; TNT TNT: see trinitrotoluene.

Fulminate of mercury mixed with potassium chlorate is a commonly used detonator. ; Latrina and her slime-filled Toilet; and Stitch with his high-voltage Knife Switch 1. (Elec.) A switch consisting of one or more knifelike pieces hinged at one end and making contact near the other with flat gripping springs. . They will begin selling this summer to PC users with frustrations or senses of humor.

TNT Tad has a penchant for detonation. He pops up, screen-saver style, juggling hand grenades, dynamite sticks and other explosive devices. A cartoon-like desktop detonator connects to the keyboard port and interacts with the software. Whenever something on your screen sufficiently annoys or frustrates you, just pound on the detonator and explode it into multicolored confetti. A mouse click instantly restores your work, or, you can instantly take control of Tad's destructive antics.

Latrina is an animated character of great lovability and unique visual appeal. Often accompanied by a gaggle of swarming flies, she resides in a slime-filled desktop toilet. When the user flushes the desktop toilet, anything on the screen including Latrina gets flushed down with appropriate audio accompaniment. Then the user can continue to use the toilet handle to direct Latrina's on-screen on·screen or on-screen

Each ScreenToyz provides greater variety than a screen saver A utility that was originally created to prevent a CRT from being etched by an unchanging image. After a specified duration of time without keyboard or mouse input, it blanks the screen or displays moving objects. Pressing a key or moving the mouse restores the screen.  and much greater interactivity. Each user decides what will happen on screen and when it will happen.

Along with the fantasy demolition, users can select backgrounds, interact with the on-screen characters through their hardware, and otherwise personalize their PCs. Users select the animation and sequence they desire through pointing and clicking on a TV Guide-type screen.
