EXPERTS: ExpertSource can offer several highly qualified experts to comment on this story:

Microsoft announced a new line of Unified Communications devices at the Microsoft Hardware Engineering Conference in Los Angeles (5/14/07). According to Todd Landry, Senior Vice-president Sphere Communications (www.spherecom.com), this story is an excellent bell-weather of the VOIP and IP Telephony markets showing that we are entering a period of major market adoption. Microsoft is recognizing that, presence, video-conferencing and VOIP phones are becoming mainstream. That's great for enterprise awareness. However, as a cautionary note, it takes years of experience for vendors to get converged communications right. Sphere has been at this for more than a decade. If you are looking for a subject matter expert for Unified Communications (UC), VoIP and Microsoft, Todd, a 15-year IP communications industry veteran, is available to discuss this topic.
