Dave Furneaux, Managing General Partner

Dave is managing general partner of Kodiak Venture Partners, a venture capital firm focused on seed and early stage investments in emerging communications/IT, semiconductor and software companies. He is Chairman of the Board of TeraConnect and a member of the boards of Potentia Semicondcutor, Silicon Dimensions and Tropic Networks.

Prior to Kodiak, Furneaux co-founded Furneaux & Company, LLC, a seed stage high technology venture investment company. He was the founding investor and active Chairman of the Board of Extreme Packet Devices (acquired by PMC-Sierra) and Philsar (acquired by Conexant). He also was a founding investor, Vice President of Business Development, and member of the board of Skystone Systems (acquired by Cisco Systems) and a founding investor in Solidum Systems (acquired by IDT). At Kodiak, he was an active early investor in AuroraNetics (acquired by Cisco Systems). Previously, Dave was a member of the early team of Chrysalis Symbolic Design (acquired by Avanti), an innovative semiconductor design company in the electronics design automation industry. There, he directed East Coast and Major Account Sales. Furneaux was also a telecommunications analyst with the National Conference.

Lou Volpe, Managing General Partner

Lou Volpe is managing general partner of Kodiak Venture Partners, a venture capital firm focused on seed and early stage investments in emerging communications/IT, semiconductor and software companies. He is Chairman of the Board of IE-Engine, Ilogic and RulesPower and a member of the board of CXO Systems, Egenera, and sentitO Networks.

Prior to joining Kodiak, Volpe was president, chief operating officer and director of ArrowPoint Communications, where he was responsible for all of ArrowPoint's functional organizations and focused on managing worldwide operations to achieve company growth objectives. ArrowPoint had a successful IPO in March 2000 and was acquired by Cisco Systems for $5.5 billion in June 2000.

Prior to joining ArrowPoint, Volpe was Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales & Marketing and a member of the Board of GeoTel Communications, which was acquired by Cisco Systems in June 1999. He joined GeoTel early in its developmental stage and was a major contributor in building its worldwide sales and marketing presence. He was also instrumental in guiding the company through its IPO and eventual $2 billion acquisition. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Operations for Parametric Technology Corporation. Before Parametric, he was an executive at Prime Computer. Lou has been an active investor and board member of a number of companies including Atria (acquired by Pure) and Softdesk (acquired by Autodesk).
