Expert Medic Develops Best-of-Breed Healthcare Information Technology (HIT) Solutions For Sports Teams and Athletes.

PITTSBURGH -- Product Suite to Address the Specific Health Information Management Needs of Sports Medicine Clinicians, Sports Organizations and Athletes

Expert Medic announced today that it has developed a demonstration HIT solution for the sports medicine specialty using the Philips iSite Platform Application Programming Interface (API). By combining Expert Medic's specialized applications for sports medicine and Philips iSite PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications System), sports teams and athletes will benefit from a seamless and specialized electronic health record (EHR) product suite with imaging capabilities, enabling team physicians to view a more comprehensive patient record.

Expert Medic develops software solutions that optimize business, clinical and other healthcare processes for the practice of sports medicine to provide specialized patient-centric solutions for athletes, student-athletes and other people who participate in sports. Expert Medic has recognized that developing specialized tools for the diagnosis and treatment of injuries at all levels of sports can increase the quality and efficacy of care. These solutions are designed to support clinicians and patients where and when sports injuries occur; on the field or rink, in the training room or fitness club, at school, at home or on the road.

As part of this collaboration, Expert Medic is working with National Football Scouting, who organizes and operates the annual NFL Combine, to provide a service that will allow teams to view and access the medical images taken of the prospects, using Philips iSite PACS technology that has been integrated using the Philips iSite Platform API.
