Experienced Retail Executive M. Shan Atkins Joins Newgistics Advisory Board; Sears Veteran to Aid in Growth of Leading Returns Management Company.

AUSTIN, Texas -- Newgistics, Inc., the leader in returns management solutions for direct retailers, today announced the appointment of M. Shan Atkins to Newgistics' Advisory Board. Atkins, with an extensive history of leadership experience in the retail business, will contribute her insight to industry practices and strategies to assist with the success of Newgistics' SmartLabel(R), the direct retail industry's fastest growing returns management service.

Atkins previously held various senior management positions with Sears, Roebuck and Co., ultimately serving as executive vice president of Strategic Initiatives. In her various roles within the company, she developed numerous marketing and merchandising strategies to improve sales growth and market share, led global product sourcing, and served as vice president/general merchandise manager of a $2.5 billion business unit within hardlines. Prior to Sears, Atkins spent 14 years with Bain & Company as vice president and lead partner in their retailing practice, where she focused on customer loyalty analysis, new market entry strategies, mergers and acquisitions, as well as retail manufacturing and distribution optimization. She is a member of the board of directors of The Pep Boys - Manny, Moe & Jack, and Spartan Stores, Inc. Atkins is also active in a number of non-profit organizations, and serves as vice-chair of the board of directors of ProLiteracy Worldwide, Inc. She is currently the managing director of Chetrum Capital LLC, a private investment firm.
