SANTA BARBARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 3, 1996-- ExperTelligence Inc. (OTC:EXGP) has introduced a powerfully enhanced version of its WebBase Internet Web server, featuring Verity full text search; a powerful Web data-interchange agent, Agent3W; a database-driven e-mail merge engine, E-Merge; shopping baskets; threaded forums; and remote management, it was announced Wednesday by Denison Bollay, president and chief executive officer.

Designated WebBase Pro, the new version is the only integrated dynamic Web server capable of SQL database integration, full text search and HTML document retrieval, Bollay said.

``The ability to seamlessly post and merge data from other Web sites enables new forms of Web commerce,'' he said. ``Web Data Interchange will become a second generation of EDI for the Web.''

Priced at $4,995, WebBase Pro will be available May 1 directly from the company and through authorized VARs.

WebBase Pro connectivity modules include:

-- Agent3W: allows WebBase Pro to conduct Web data interchange (WDI) with other Web sites. Compatible with all existing Web sites, Agent3W can retrieve data from multiple sites in parallel and consolidate the results into a single document.

-- E-Merge: allows Web pages to search the database and send mail-merge letters that are individualized and customized by criteria. It facilitates normal and timed E-mail. Database fields can be merged into e-mails, and paragraphs can be conditioned on calculations. E-mails can be sent to arbitrary database selections as the result of events, and queued for delayed delivery.

-- Forum: allows users to store and view threaded messages in a database, a powerful capability for support forums, FAQs and project management. The user interface is form- and table-based.

-- Shopping Basket: an object-oriented software device that creates a metaphorical place where Web-site visitors such as catalog shoppers can store selections as they complete their purchases. Shopping Basket can also store information from previous hits on the site. Automatic integration with ``cookies'' makes catalog sites easier to build.

-- Remote Management: a set of management forms that allow many aspects of site administration to be controlled remotely.

-- Training: WebBase Pro comes with one day of training, speeding the ability to put up a Web site.
