across multiple datatypes, giving customers fast manipulation to any kind of data.

The Select++ Fuzzy DataBlade module is one of a number of DataBlade modules coming to market in conjunction with the general availability of the INFORMIX-Universal Server in December 1996.

The Select++ Fuzzy DataBlade module allows businesses to conduct searches on their data with inaccurate, or incomplete queries, and still retrieve exact to near-exact results on the query. For example, in a Human Resources The fancy word for "people." The user can query, for example, on first name, last name, and city, and may not know the exact spelling of the last name. The user inputs the best known spelling of the name, queries the system, and the application returns a series of options based on the information given and prioritizes that information as being most-to-least accurate.

"Businesses that process large amounts of data such as telephone companies, government agencies, insurance companies, mail-order houses, and credit-card processing companies can use the Select++ Fuzzy DataBlade module and INFORMIX-Universal Server to quality control their data," said Peter Schmidt Peter Schmidt may refer to:

Implementing the Select++ Fuzzy DataBlade in the INFORMIX-Universal Server also allows developers to reap the benefits of server-side DBMS (DataBase Management System) Software that controls the organization, storage, retrieval, security and integrity of data in a database.
