"When that property was originally developed, we were new to the industry and didn't know how large to make that hotel," Boyles said. The Residence Inn was not initially expected to expand. But one of Boyles' partners in the hotel owns land adjacent to the property, which will make the new project possible. All of the new rooms at the Residence Inn will be suites - 12 of them two-bedroom units, and the remainder studio suites. Boyles declined to say how much the expansions will cost. The Holiday Inn Express and Suites project is expected to be completed by December 2006, and the Residence Inn by Marriott is scheduled for completion in February 2007.
