Existing Coal-Fired Boiler to Be Retrofitted With SCR for DeNOx Technology.SANTA ANA, Calif. -- Wahlco, Inc. received an award from Mitsubishi Power Systems to supply ammonia system equipment for the Xcel Energy, A.S. King Station Rehabilitation Project. The existing coal-fired boiler is to be equipped with a Selective Catalytic Reduction Selective catalytic reduction (SCR) is a means of removing nitrogen oxides, often the most abundant and polluting component in exhaust gases, through a chemical reaction between the exhaust gases, a (reductant) additive, and a catalyst.
