Exhibitors recognition 2007.

Now that everyone is back hard at work after a very successful Conference and Exposition exposition or exhibition, term frequently applied to an organized public fair or display of industrial and artistic productions, designed usually to promote trade and to reflect cultural progress.  in Nashville Nashville, city (1990 pop. 487,969), state capital, coextensive with Davidson co., central Tenn., on the Cumberland River, in a fertile farm area; inc. as a city 1806, merged with Davidson co. 1963. , we wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of the (155) Exhibitors who took part in the Show, and to recognize many of them for their longstanding Adj. 1. longstanding - having existed for a long time; "a longstanding friendship"; "the longstanding conflict"

Through their continued participation by displaying their products and services to attendees, they confirm the importance of this annual gathering of the key industry players. They value the opportunity for face-to-face (jargon, chat) face-to-face - (F2F, IRL) Used to describe personal interaction in real life as opposed to via some digital or electronic communications medium.  business meetings, whether demonstrating products to industry professionals or discussing mutually beneficial Adj. 1. mutually beneficial - mutually dependent

That considerable investment entails not just money, but also precious time, talent, and other resources to make their participation meaningful to you the attendee at·tend·ee

been involved as an exhibitor, you probably know little about what this investment entails, or the work involved to prepare for the "ribbon cutting" and the subsequent dozen or so long hours of "manning the booth." I would like to share some insights with you about these particulars in the hope that everyone will have a deeper appreciation of what's involved with exhibiting and we can better show our appreciation to the Exhibitor community for their participation.

The financial investment can be considerable, quite considerable depending on the size of the booth. Booth space is purchased in increments of 10' x 10' spaces. About 50% of the Exhibitors at our annual Expo contract a 10' x 10' linear space, and most utilize a "pop-up" type display. This display is usually packaged in airline checked luggage LUGGAGE.  their display without help in an hour or so, leaving enough time to go play golf! These displays typically cost between $3000 and $5000, and will be useable for several years depending on the number of shows they do annually.

The space rental alone at our Exposition costs them about $3300, so factoring in typical T & E plus incidentals incidentals

, a 10' x 10' Exhibitor is looking at a $5000 to $10,000 investment to exhibit at our Show. About 30% of our Exhibitors contract a 10' x 20' linear booth space, and, utilizing similar but larger modular displays, their costs to exhibit will run between $10,000 and $15,000 per show.

When an Exhibitor decides to make the leap up to an island booth, beginning with a 20' x 20' space, and going up from there to a 20' x 50' space, currently the largest display size at our Show, the investment increases dramatically! But for the 20% of our Exhibitors who utilize an island booth, the benefits and exhibit experience increase significantly as well. In addition to having substantially more room to display their products, they can do so in a more friendly and welcoming environment. It allows you, the Attendee, to "come inside" their booth and see the products and discuss business more privately, as opposed to doing so "in the aisle" in front of a linear booth. But as mentioned, the price they pay to provide this more hospitable hos·pi·ta·ble

. It begins with the designing and building of their display, and this can run from $20,000 to $50,000 very easily. It continues with the freight cost to ship the display to the show, usually in numerous large wooden containers. Next comes the moving, handling, and storage of those containers at the show site, followed by hours of manual labor by Exhibitor staff and convention center laborers to assemble the booth. These costs are then doubled when you consider the reverse process takes place when the show is over. The booth is disassembled, packed, and shipped back home.

There are many variables in the equation of these cost factors for using an island display, but it is easy to guesstimate guess·ti·mate

Please thank them for their participation and support and see what they have to show and hear what they have to say. And when you reflect on this, consider the companies who have supported our conference and exposition for so many years. For 32 consecutive years since 1976 we have held this event, and many have participated in every one of them.

The following is a list of this year' exhibiting companies with (5) or more total year's participation. An * indicates consecutive years.
