Executives make a move to Empire State Building.

In a major office leasing transaction at the Empire State Building, Virgo Business Center, an executive suite operation, has leased the entire 22,000 square foot 59th floor at the world famous office tower at 34th Street and Fifth Avenue.

The company expects to begin its operations at the building in September. The space is being divided in 66 executive offices with common reception, conference room and other support amenities. Virgo operates similar executive suites in Manhattan's Midtown South district and White Plains, NY.

"We're very excited to bring our highly successful office suite concept to the most recognizable corporate address in the world," stated Virgo Business Center principal Joseph Scharf, who noted that his company also offered a potential bonus to the landmark tower. "I'm sure as some of our tenants outgrow their space with us, they'll consider expanding into their own offices at the Empire State Building."

Norman Bobrow and David Badner, of Norman Bobrow & Company, represented Virgo Business Center in the long term leasing transaction. Empire State Director of Leasing Thomas P. Sullivan represented the landlord.

According to Mr. Sullivan, the Virgo transaction continues what has been a strong and extended surge of office leasing activity at the Empire State Building, a pattern that includes larger sized space commitments.

"We used to make a full floor deal once every seven years," noted Mr. Sullivan. "Now we've made three in the last seven months." The others involved Alitalia Airlines and fashion firm, FUBU.
