"As DAC continues to grow and embrace all aspects of electronic design, design automation, and manufacturing, it is also important to pursue innovation in the management of these processes," said Steven P. Levitan, general chair, 44th DAC. "This year, our special management day tutorial addresses innovation in management, and the impact it can have on the electronics, semiconductor and EDA markets."

Organized by Narendra Shenoy, tutorial chair for the 44th DAC executive committee, and presenter Dr. Raul Camposano, the seminar is designed for middle and senior management worldwide who must incorporate innovation as a part of strategic planning Strategic planning is an organization's process of defining its strategy, or direction, and making decisions on allocating its resources to pursue this strategy, including its capital and people. . First, Dr. Geoffrey Moore will present innovation fundamentals, exploring how innovation strategies vary depending on product lifecycles and the challenges in managing innovation. In the second segment, Dr. Raul Camposano will discuss the evolution of innovation in the electronic design, semiconductor and EDA markets, as well as the challenges facing the industry today. Finally, Dr. Jim Smith will present the investor's point of view on evaluating innovations. In the context of electronics design and semiconductor markets being truly global industries, this seminar will be of immense value to the international audience that attends DAC.
