(communications, protocol) Digital Subscriber Line - (DSL, or Digital Subscriber Loop, xDSL - see below) A family of digital telecommunications protocols designed to allow high speed data communication over the existing copper telephone lines between end-users and
(DSL) broadband services in the United Kingdom. Approved for use on the British Telecom network, this unique, patented filter provides the highest possible voice quality and data rates for DSL broadband subscribers using four or more filters on the same phone line.

The Z-420UKP2J dynamically activates only when the phone is in use, minimizing capacitance. While capacitance can prevent Caller Line Identification (CLI) from functioning after several filters are installed, the Z-420UKP2J keeps CLI working with up to ten filters installed. These filters also effectively block radio-frequency (RF) interference from cordless phones and other wireless sources, enabling uninterrupted video/audio streaming and games.

"With conventional DSL phone filters, each additional filter degrades voice quality, CLI performance, asymmetric digital subscriber line (communications, protocol) Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line - (ADSL, or Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Loop) A form of Digital Subscriber Line in which the bandwidth available for downstream connection is significantly larger then for upstream.  (ADSL See DSL.

) data rates, and other services," explained Millard Schewe, marketing manager of the Excelsus product group. "The Z-420UKP2J eliminates interference between ADSL and plain old telephone service (POTS), allows a clear signal, and enables CLI when you have multiple filters. I know of no other device that gives DSL subscribers such high performance with more than four filters."

The Z-420UKP2J can be mixed and matched with up to four conventional, non-dynamic filters. There is no need to replace the original filters. It can also be used when fewer than four phone jacks are in use. Up to ten Z-420UKP2J filters can be connected to one line with no noticeable performance degradation. The dynamic filters meet British Telecom requirements per SIN 346 Issue 2.4 (November 2003) as well as ITU-T See ITU.

ITU-T - International Telecommunications Union
 G.992.1 and G.992.2.

The Z-420UKP2J filter is designed to be installed into every telephone jack in the DSL subscriber's premises that contains voice-band equipment devices, including corded/cordless telephones, answering machines, fax machines, 56Kb/s and lower-rate modems, automatic dialers and recorder connectors. A DSL convenience jack is provided for connecting a DSL modem or home phone line network (HPN Home parenteral nutrition (HPN)

) device. This means both a phone device and a DSL modem can be connected to a single phone jack, enabling easy broadband access.

Excelsus DSL filters and splitters incorporate unique, industry-leading Z-BLOCKER technology that demonstrates high performance voice and data characteristics with regard to insertion loss, return loss, and stop-band isolation. In addition, the technology allows utilization of manufacturing techniques that ensure low cost and high performance.
