Excellon Announces 10 Metre Sulphide Intercept In New Area.TORONTO -- Excellon Resources Inc. (TSX TSX Toronto Stock Exchange (TSE before April, 2002) TSX Transfer from Stack Pointer to Index TSX True Space Extension VENTURE:EXN EXN The Exploration Network ) is pleased to announce that drill hole LP05-132 cut 10 metres of massive sulphide mineralization Mineralization The process by which the body uses minerals to build bone structure. Mentioned in: Rickets mineralization, n the bioprecipitation of an inorganic substance. from 138 to 148 metres downhole in an area well outside the currently outlined indicated resource. The hole lies approximately 90 metres northeast of the 6 Manto and 145 metres east-northeast of the N-1 Manto (see map below). The -80 degrees drill hole was targeted on a structure indicated by Natural Source Audio Magneto magneto: see generator. magneto Permanent-magnet alternating generator used mainly to produce electrical current for the ignition system in various types of internal-combustion engines, such as aircraft, marine, tractor, and motorcycle engines. Trace mineralization cut in earlier nearby drill holes (LP-24, 28, 29) was also considered in targeting. The intercept consists of massive argentiferous ar·gen·tif·er·ous adj. Bearing or producing silver. Adj. 1. argentiferous - containing or yielding silver; "argentiferous ore" galena galena (gəlē`nə) or lead glance, lustrous, blue-gray mineral crystallizing usually in cubes, sometimes in octahedrons. It occurs in crystals of the isometric system but more generally in cleavable, compact masses. with minor patches of unmineralized wallrocks similar to the high grade mineralization currently being mined. Core recovery was over 95% for all but a one metre section where recovery was under 30%. The core has been split and assays are expected early in the New Year. Drilling to seek lateral continuations of this intercept will begin in early January. Excellon's Chairman, Richard Brissenden, said: "We're extremely pleased to get such an excellent intercept in our last hole of 2005 and are looking forward to beginning 2006 with further drilling in this new area. This mineralization lies well outside the resource we're currently mining and we're hoping the strength of this intercept bodes well for finding a sizeable sulphide body here. This mineralization was found using the same targeting factors that resulted in finding the NE-1 Zone (see press release of March 17, 2005) so we're eager to drill in other places where we've defined similar coincident geophysical and geochemical anomalies." Qualified Person and Quality Assurance and Control The Platosa exploration program is designed and supervised by Mr. A. D. MacKenzie, P. Eng., and Dr. Peter Megaw, respectively Excellon's President, and its Consulting Geologist and Exploration Manager of its Mexican subsidiary. Assaying and check-assaying is being performed by ALS-Chemex Laboratories of Vancouver and BSI BSI - British Standards Institute Inspectorate of Reno, Nevada.
