, Excelligence has created arts & crafts workshops based on the vital connection between art, literacy and learning.

These workshops are customized to help teachers learn the educational values of arts & crafts activities so they can make the most of children's early education. Excelligence's Director of Training and licensed art therapist, Anna Reyner, has created the curriculum for these workshops. Anna will also train a group of mentor teachers, following the workshop. These mentor teachers will learn how to conduct similar trainings for groups of teachers in more remote, rural areas, where teachers typically have limited access to specialized spe·cial·ize

"Working with Success by Six, we are creating workshops at the Center that will be taught in both English and Spanish to help to span language and cultural differences and impart the value of art in child development," explained Reyner.

Success by Six specifically requested two levels of workshops be coordinated, one for teachers and another for teacher mentors. Using this two-tier training approach, a higher number of teachers will be impacted, and more children will benefit from a broader and more educationally-enriched use of art in the classroom.
