Hepworth finished seventh, with Mark Buckingham (Huddersfield Star Wheelers) getting fifth in the bunch sprint to get 13th place. This was Buckingham's first race over 55 miles and considering the standard of riders he was up against and his lack of race racing experience, this was a very impressive result. In the Masters/Junior race on the same course, several local riders were in the points. Richard Binks (Holme Valley Wheelers) was second in the 40-44 age category, just beating Paul Dixon (VS Cycles), while in the junior race Ben Kellet (Holme Valley Wheelers) was fifth. . In the fourth round of the Sovereign 10-mile Time Trial series, Ben Kellet came out on top with a very impressive time of 25min 19sec in windy conditions. Best Star Wheeler was Mark Buckingham, stopping the clock at 26min 04sec to get fourth place. . Talented Star Wheeler David Longbottom is starting to show good form in the White Rose Youth League events at Richard Dunn Sport Centre in Bradford. Longbottom was three seconds off the best time in the one-lap time trial and finished in the top 10 in the circuit race. . The Eric Biddulph Memorial Road Race promoted by Huddersfield Star Wheelers takes place this Sunday. The race is over 35miles on a challenging circuit near Birdsedge. The event is named after Star Wheelers' former club secretary and stalwart who passed away last year. The HQ is Crowedge Community Centre and the race starts at 10am. Spectators are encouraged to come up to cheer on the riders and then attend the prize presentation afterwards..
