In the swim
A GROUP of Northumberland cubs and scouts more than doubled their fundraising target at a 48-hour sponsored swim.
Volunteer staff kept Willowburn Leisure centre at Alnwick open for 48 hours to allow the swim to continue non-stop from Friday to Sunday, to raise money for victims of the tsunami disaster.
The pounds 1,000-plus raised will go directly to Scout Groups for regeneration work in the areas affected by the tsunami.
