These unique prepaid applications will offer carriers the ability to identify specific customer segments with targeted, differentiated features to attract loyal customers and generate revenue in any network environment. Applications in development include calling cards, tandem, and tandem DB.

"As more carriers migrate from existing TDM-based networks to VoIP, the importance of providing new services along with SS7 signaling capabilities is critical," said J.C. Murphy, president, Excel Switching Corp. "The costs of call handling, ease of integration and interoperability issues associated with converging networks can be substantial. Compro's experience in developing and deploying TDM, IP and signaling systems, in combination with Excel's proven AnyGen technology, is an attractive solution for any service provider expanding and modernizing its network."

Compro's network application server-based applications are allowing service providers worldwide to deploy tandem, calling card, and enhanced services Enhanced service is service offered over commercial carrier transmission facilities used in interstate communications, that employs computer processing applications that act on the format, content, code, protocol, or similar aspects of the subscriber's transmitted information;  on Next Generation Network (NGN (Next Generation Networks) An umbrella term for mixed voice and data networks running over the IP protocol. The applications reside within the service provider domain, and provide feature functionality for NGN elements including Media Gateways, Trunking Gateways, and Signaling Gateways A network device that converts control signals from one format to another. "We chose to partner with Excel and integrate with its CSP 2090 because it offers us the most flexibility in creating revenue-enhancing applications for carriers.
