Excalibur chosen to supply information retrieval solutions to six prime contractors in $100 million NIH ImageWorld Contract.

VIENNA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 6, 1996--Excalibur Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ:EXCA), a leading provider of software solutions for electronic information retrieval, Friday announced that it will provide a wide range of COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) and other high-performance information retrieval and document management products to six prime contractors selected on the newly-awarded National Institutes of Health's (NIH) National Information Technology Acquisition and Assessment Center (NITAAC) ImageWorld Contract.

Excalibur's software solutions may be purchased on prime contracts through BTG, Unisys, Lockheed, and EDS; 8(a) purchases are available through Multimax and Universal Hi-Tech Development.

With a focus on providing complete solutions for information retrieval and document management over intranets and the Internet, Excalibur will supply RetrievalWare(TM), Electronic Filing Software (EFS)(TM) and several bundled solutions.

RetrievalWare is one of the first unified family of software components developed to significantly improve the productivity and lower the costs of information management systems.

Excalibur Security Servers and Visual RetrievalWare(TM), an image "plug and play" feature for photos, video, facial prints, and fingerprints, are a few of the optional Excalibur add-on products also offered by the named NIH ImageWorld contractors.
