Excalibur Paint & Coatings launches Aqua-Thane.

Excalibur Paint & Coatings' has introduced Aqua-Thane, a patent pending, 2K water-borne acrylic polyurethane technology. Test results to date have concluded that this environmentally friendly, low VOC (less than 50 grams/liter) HAPS-free system meets or exceeds the performance properties of high performance solvent-borne systems. Film build of 4-8 mils wet is achieved without foaming, gassing or flow problems. Aqua-Thane exhibits depth of image, abrasion, solvent and chemical resistance including Skydrol, yet maintains hardness and is flexible. It has good adhesion to a wide variety of surfaces including steel, aluminum, galvanized metals (both electroplated and hot--dipped), various stainless steel, PVC and carbon/fiberglass composites. For ferrous and non-ferrous substrate, abrasive blasting is not required prior to application.
