Exanet Unveils Industry's First Fully Integrated Continuous Data Protection Product for Enterprise NAS; ExaStore CDP Offers Broad Range of Information Security, Disaster Recovery, and Data Replication Tools, Including Unlimited Snapshots.

HERZLIYA, Israel -- Exanet, the leader in clustered NAS (1) See network access server.

(2) (Network Attached Storage) A specialized file server that connects to the network. A NAS device contains a slimmed-down operating system and a file system and processes only I/O requests by supporting the popular
software, today announced the industry's first Continuous Data Protection product to fully integrate with high-end, high-performance, clustered NAS platforms. ExaStore CDP CDP (cytidine diphosphate): see cytosine.

(1) (Certificate in Data Processing) An earlier award for the successful completion of an examination in hardware, software, systems analysis, programming, management and accounting,
(TM) enhances an organization's ability to quickly and easily recover critical data by giving administrators access to a virtually infinite set (mathematics) infinite set - A set with an infinite number of elements. There are several possible definitions, e.g.

(i) ("Dedekind infinite") A set X is infinite if there exists a bijection (one-to-one mapping) between X and some proper subset of X.
of data recovery points, securely and continuously delivering the right file to the right client at the right time.

ExaStore CDP encapsulates and integrates replication with the ability to capture block-level changes on a continuous basis, reducing capacity requirements by capturing only the portion of the files that has changed. ExaStore CDP enables a painless and simple transfer to a secondary Disaster Recovery system, as well as a simple roll back to any known good recovery point before the event. In both cases, the system enables a full reconstruction of the data from the CDP image, in combination with a previously replicated copy of primary data.

"The announcement of ExaStore CDP underscores the significant steps we've taken to bring NAS clustering to the enterprise," said Rami rami

"Deploying CDP on a clustered distributed file system Software that keeps track of files stored across multiple networks. When the data are requested, it converts the file names into the physical location of the file so it can be found.  platform is a complex and difficult task, as evidenced by the problems and delays other suppliers -- such as NetApp -- have experienced in not being able to provide CDP functionality in their clustered NAS systems to date. In addition, we see great business potential with enterprise customers and application partners, in fields like manufacturing and engineering, where there is a constant need for performance and scalability as well as data protection functionality for versioning purposes."

Exanet's ExaStore enterprise NAS architecture provides unprecedented NAS performance, scalability and availability without complexity. The innovative ExaStore architecture is optimized for high-performance file I/O Input/Output operations such as open, close, read, write and append, all of which deal with standard disk or tape files. The term would be used to refer to regular file operations in contrast to low-level system I/O such as dealing with virtual memory pages or OS tables of contents. , as proven in record-setting benchmarks in SPECsfs testing, while providing on-the-fly scalability for extremely demanding and high-capacity applications.

The ExaStore software architecture is based on server nodes that are deployed in a clustered, high-availability configuration, eliminating single failure points and minimizing downtime The time during which a computer is not functioning due to hardware, operating system or application program failure. . ExaStore is built around a patented distributed shared file system that enables administrators to manage an ExaStore installation as simply as a single NAS filer, regardless of how many nodes or total capacity are deployed, dramatically reducing storage management expenses. ExaStore utilizes industry-standard servers and storage, giving customers the freedom to select best-of-breed components and eliminating vendor lock-in In economics, vendor lock-in, also known as proprietary lock-in, customer lock-in, lock-in is where a customer is dependent on a vendor for products and services and cannot move to another vendor without substantial switching costs, real and/or perceived. . The storage and server components of an ExaStore installation can be scaled independently, allowing customers to precisely tune the system to meet their unique capacity, performance and availability requirements.

ExaStore CDP will be available through Exanet partners worldwide at the end of the third quarter 2006.
