Exanet, Asigra First to Achieve More Than One Billion Files in a Single File System.

ExaStore/Televaulting Joint Solution Improves Storage Utilization, Performance

HERZLIYA, Israel & TORONTO -- Exanet, the leader in high-performance, clustered NAS (1) See network access server.

software, and Asigra[TM], the technology specialists in agentless remote backup and recovery software, today announced that a joint solution featuring the companies' ExaStore[R] and Televaulting[TM] systems has successfully stored more than one billion files on a single distributed file system Software that keeps track of files stored across multiple networks. When the data are requested, it converts the file names into the physical location of the file so it can be found.  - an industry first!

Featuring an ExaStore two-node High Performance Cluster and an Asigra N+1 DS-System architecture, 1.13 billion data files were distributed to remote site servers during the test. ExaStore provided a single IP address for Televaulting to write to, while automatically balancing the load and the data to the least busy node and least occupied disk drives, thus maximizing total storage performance and capacity. The ExaStore single file system eliminated the need for Televaulting to manage backend storage repository operations, allowing it to allocate resources to data vaulting Transmitting data to a computer in a different location for backup.  rather than data management, which in turn increased total performance.

Additional performance and capacity improvements were achieved through the elimination of link files. With ExaStore, there is no need to manage multiple file system mount points and the data links associated with them, thereby eliminating layers of complexity and significantly speeding the recovery of business-critical information at remote sites.

"The combination of ExaStore and Televaulting has already proven in user sites to be a successful marriage of two synergetic synergetic /syn·er·get·ic/ (sin?er-jet´ik) synergic.
