With flexible arms and goosenecks, both lights are easy to adjust and won't drift during procedures. Handles are covered in durable plastic for easy cleaning. An optional caster base is available that is sturdy, yet easy to attach to the lights' permanent bases. For user safety, the cord is located at the bottom of the light to prevent tangling.

The Ritter 151 Incandescent Light uses a standard, low-wattage 25-watt bulb that, when used with Midmark's enhanced, multifaceted, wide-beam reflector reflector: see telescope. , provides lighting comparable to that of higher-wattage bulbs. The Ritter 152 Halogen Light uses a 35-watt quartz halogen bulb that provides 1,500 footcandles at 24" for an optimum amount of quality light. The 3,000 K color temperature The measurement of color expressed in Kelvin (K). The reason this measurement is called a "temperature" is because it was derived from a theoretical object called a "black body radiator." When the radiator is heated, it changes from black to red to yellow to white to blue.  provides a cool white light for optimum color recognition. A unique heat sink A material that absorbs heat. Typically made of aluminum, heat sinks are widely used in amplifiers and other electronic devices that build up heat. Small heat sinks are the most economical method for cooling microprocessors and other chips.  effectively removes heat from the bulb and its socket to increase the life of the bulb for minimal downtime. A small head section on the Ritter 152 allows for high-quality lighting that's easy to use.

The Ritter 151 and 152 were designed to coordinate with Midmark's full line of quality Ritter products to provide aesthetic appeal for exam and procedure rooms.
