Clients include Sony Music Entertainment Sony Music Entertainment is a major global record label controlled by the Sony Corporation. In 1988, Sony Corporation acquired CBS Records, Inc. for $2 billion. CBS Inc., now CBS Corporation, retained the rights to the CBS name, and Sony renamed the label  Inc., Charles Schwab & Co. Inc., and MSNBC MSNBC Microsoft/National Broadcasting Company  Interactive News. Exactis.com also sends out The Economist's two weekly, free, online newsletters, Politics This Week and Business This Week, to 760,000 people (NL/NL 9/15/99).

Exactis.com was founded as Mercury Mail in 1995. Its delivery of The Economist's newsletters, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  Tom Detmer told NL/NL, is just the beginning of its newsletter activity. "The publishing industry has come to depend on e-mail for delivering newsletters and more efficient and targeted communications to their subscriber base," he said.
