Evident Software Launches New Service Offering; Usage Baseline Takes Advantage of Cisco NetFlow to Right-Size the Data Center.

LAS VEGAS -- (Networkers 2005) - June 20, 2005 - Evident Software, the leading provider of IT Service Intelligence solutions, today announced a new quick-start service called the Usage Baseline, which enables enterprises to get a handle on the IT assets actually in use in their data center, understand their true capacity requirements, and provide the foundation for accurate service pricing.

The Usage Baseline is delivered by Evident's Professional Services organization and applies the Evident Enterprise platform to provide insight and analysis into which applications and locations are driving usage and costs in the data center. The service will take advantage of a client's existing Cisco IOS NetFlow infrastructure to collect, correlate, and rate network usage data. It provides tangible value in as little as four weeks, to:

--Mitigate risk associated with unknown assets and reconcile the asset inventory

--Reduce zero-value demand and free capacity

--Gain IT cost visibility and better communicate with business and finance peers

AMR Research characterizes this type of analysis for IT as a critical component of IT Resource Planning (ITRP). According to AMR, ITRP is an emerging market category designed to provide Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) - like functionality to the IT organization.
