Everyone aims to be the best; NINESTILES SCHOOL.

WELCOME to Ninestiles - a Leading Edge school with a national and international reputation for excellence.

That is the message from head teacher Christine Quinn, who said: "We will continue to be in the vanguard Vanguard

From the time students enter Ninestiles until they leave at 18 the broad and balanced curriculum, the inspiring learning environment, the high quality teaching, a strong pastoral system, and exciting extracurricular opportunities combine to ensure individual success.

As Ofsted confirmed in February, Ninestiles has a very positive, vibrant culture in which individuals are valued and everyone strives for the best.

Through the "assessment for learning" system students take an active part in their learning by setting targets and agreeing appropriate levels of attainment.

They flourish in a secure and supportive classroom environment that is created by a blend of clear policies, high expectations, the creative use of new technologies and talented staff.

The quality of teaching and learning was said to be "outstanding" by Ofsted. which awarded Ninestiles a Grade 1 for its provision.

Ninestiles prides itself on the high quality of its pastoral support and guidance and places great emphasis on close, supportive relationships between all members of its learning community.

The school's commitment to achievement is underpinned and enhanced by a Behaviour for Learning system which provides a clear code of conduct that uses both sanctions Sanctions is the plural of sanction. Depending on context, a sanction can be either a punishment or a permission. The word is a contronym.

Sanctions involving countries:
and praise to ensure a safe and suitable environment for learning.

Ofsted noted: "Students' personal development and their well-being are outstanding."

The quality of relationships with parents is seen as crucial to success. There are reporting and consultation opportunities throughout the year and the student support office provides a dedicated service to both parents and students.

Ms Quinn said: "We believe that it is important to provide as many opportunities for success as possible,"

"Extra-curricular opportunities offer this chance whilst adding breadth to the curriculum. Ninestiles has an excellent tradition of musical and drama productions, a flourishing music faculty and a commitment to the arts in general which has resulted in a Gold Artsmark award for the quality and breadth of what is on offer.

"Similarly, we have been recognised nationally through Sportsmark for our sporting and leisure opportunities, enjoying, as we do, enhanced access to the facilities we share with Fox Hollies Leisure Centre.

"There are many and varied opportunities for students to take part in field trips, exchanges and outdoor activities. Recently our students have enjoyed work experience in France, visits to the battlefields of Flanders and Normandy, pot-holing, caving and abseiling in Wales Wales, Welsh Cymru, western peninsula and political division (principality) of Great Britain (1991 pop. 2,798,200), 8,016 sq mi (20,761 sq km), west of England; politically united with England since 1536. Ninestiles is celebrating its results this summer with 83 per cent of the "Class of 06" achieving five or more A*-C grades.

Many students are now looking forward to the school's sixth form residential induction weekend before settling down into a post-16 route which will see them achieving a place at university.

So, what can a new Year 7 student, making the transition from Key Stage 2, expect to find when they join Ninestiles? A two-day induction programme with their personal tutor is followed by an overnight residential stay in the Lickey Hills, where students take part in a carefully organised range of activities.

Ms Quinn added: "We look forward to seeing prospective parents and students at our open evening on September 27 from 6pm to 8pm or our open morning on September 28 between 9am and noon."
