Merchant Gourmet, the speciality food brand, is introducing two new products, along with a new contemporary brand identity across various categories, to deliver much stronger stand-out on shelf.

Building on the success of Merchant Gourmet's Dulce de Leche Dulce de leche in Spanish, dolç de llet in Catalan, or doce de leite in Portuguese ("milk candy"), is a milk-based syrup.

Found as both a sauce and a caramel-like candy, it is popular in Argentina.
 creamy toffee caramel sauce, two new variants are now available in Cappucino and Chocolate.

The new products offer even greater versatility and convenience for today's consumer, whilst providing a unique texture and taste. The range can be used as baking ingredients, toppings or spreads.

Sourced from one of Merchant Gourmet's finest producers, Dulce de Leche--literally meaning 'sweetness of milk'--is a traditional rich toffee caramel sauce from Argentina. No additives or preservatives preservatives,

 are used and Dulce de Leche provides a significant source of calcium. The new Dulce de Leche products are supplied in 220g jars and are available from Waitrose.

The innovative design and packaging is based on the theme 'every day premium', positioning Merchant Gourmet as a brand that delivers premium, exciting ingredients for everyday use.

The rebranding aims to appeal to 'foodies', including 'assembly cooks' and those who entertain at weekends. The new packaging features a bold, premium brand colour, a new instantly recognisable logo and stylised Adj. 1. stylised - using artistic forms and conventions to create effects; not natural or spontaneous; "a stylized mode of theater production"

The new designs will appear initially on best selling lines including Sun Dried Tomatoes, Camargue Red Rice Not to be confused with Red rice, or Bhutanese red rice.

Camargue red rice is a relatively new variety of rice cultivated in the wetlands of the Camargue region of southern France. It is a short-grained and unmilled variety of rice and is therefore quite sticky.
