AREW Charity

May 1 -- The Association of Real Estate Women Charitable Fund will hold a breakfast with Pulitzer-prize winning journalist Anna Quindlen Anna Quindlen (b. July 8, 1952) is an American author, journalist and opinion columnist whose New York Times column, Public and Private, won the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary in 1992.  as guest speaker in the Mercury Room of the New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
 Hilton Hotel, 1335 Avenue of the Americas. Proceeds will benefit Women In Need (WIN). The breakfast will be held from 8 to 9 a.m., followed by Quindlen's address from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Tickets are $125 per person. Financing Course

May 1 to June 26 -- LaGuardia Community College LaGuardia Community College is a City University of New York (CUNY) community college located in Long Island City in Queens, New York. It is named for former New York City Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia.  will offer a 22.5-hour, state-approved continuing education course, entitled "Real Estate Financing," on Wednesdays from 6 to 9 p.m. The course will discuss financing procedures, federal legislation, documentation, etc. Classes will take place at the College's main campus, at 3 1-10 Thomson Ave. Tuition: $150 per person. Learning Annex Program

May 1 to June 26 -- The Learning Annex will offer a three-part program, entitled "How to Find, Buy, and Renovate a Brownstone brownstone, red to brown variety of sandstone. Environmental Conference

May 1-2 -- A conference entitled "Rethinking the Built Environment" will be held. It will explore the intersection between high performance design and technology and post-9/ 11 definitions of building security. Distributed generation, indoor environmental quality and fundamental topics such as energy efficiency and "clean" technology will be addressed along with financial incentives, programs and tools that help achieve high performance building objectives.
