Events planned for Memorial Day.

CORRECTION (ran 5/31/04): A Memorial Day tribute will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Eugene Pioneer Cemetery. A story on Page C2 of Sunday's paper listed an incorrect date.

Many communities are holding events today and Monday to honor those who died serving their country. Here are the scheduled events:

Today

Eugene Masonic Cemetery and Hope Abbey Mausoleum mausoleum (môsəlē`əm), a sepulchral structure or tomb, especially one of some size and architectural pretension, so called from the sepulcher of that name at Halicarnassus, Asia Minor, erected (c.352 B.C. : Open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Self-guided walking tours include the new garden shed and various displays in the mausoleum. Flags will fly at all veterans' graves and taps will be played at noon at the public square. Sharon Blick of the Eugene/Springfield Chapter of the North American Butterfly Association The North American Butterfly Association (NABA) was created in 1992 by Jeffrey Glassberg who currently resides as the association's president. The NABA was formed in order to promote awareness of butterfly conservation and the benefits of butterfly gardening, observation,  will answer questions and lead walks from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. A birthday cake celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Eugene Masonic Cemetery Association will be served from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., East 25th Street and University Avenue.

Eugene Pioneer Cemetery: 11 a.m. performance by the Shasta Middle School Symphonic Band and Concert Choir at the Civil War Veterans' Plot, 980 E. 16th Street.

Monday

American Legion American Legion, national association of male and female war veterans, founded (1919) in Paris. Membership is open to veterans of World Wars I and II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.  Post 40: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Memorial Day service at the Vet Wall at Willamalane Park in Spring- field.

Eagle Point National Cemetery Eagle Point National Cemetery is a United States National Cemetery located northeast of the city of Medford in Jackson County, Oregon. It encompasses 43.4 acres, and as of the end of 2005, had 12,049 interments. : 11 a.m. Memorial Day service including a laying of wreaths by various veterans and civic groups, a traditional 21-gun salute, a fly-over by the Oregon National Guard and a performance by the Eagle Point High School Band, 2763 Riley Road, Eagle Point.

Lane Memorial Gardens: 11:30 a.m. Memorial Day tribute, 5300 W. 11th Avenue .

Mount Vernon Mount Vernon, estate, United States

 Cemetery: 11 a.m. Memorial Day ceremony provided by the Springfield U.S. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3965, 57th Street and Mount Vernon Road, Spring- field.

Rest Haven Memorial Park: 1 p.m. Memorial Day dedication ceremony, 3900 Willamette St., Eugene.

Roseburg National Cemetery Roseburg National Cemetery is a United States National Cemetery located in Oregon, Douglas County, Oregon. It encompasses 4.1 acres, and as of the end of 2005, had 3,442 interments. It is administered by the Eagle Point National Cemetery. : 3 p.m. Memorial Day service including a laying of wreaths by various veterans' and civil groups, a traditional 21-gun salute, and a performance by the St. Paul St. Paul
