The joint non-lethal weapons program industry day will provide information on current and future military needs and requirements for the important, growing area of non-lethal weapons. This conference will provide an excellent opportunity for the exploration of requirements and developmental opportunities between service and industry representatives.

November 4-5 7th Annual Army Small Business Conference Event #4430 Mclean, Va.

This conference is the only yeany event specifically aimed at all of the Army's small business contractors. It brings together leaders of the small business community, the Small Business Administration and the Army Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization Office to discuss timely topics, including recent changes affecting small businesses. Participants will include key Army decision-makers from the Pentagon, Army Materiel Command and field commanders who conduct acquisition.

November 17-19 41st NDIA targets, UAVs and Range Operations Symposium & Exhibition Event #4410 Palm Springs, Calif.

This will be the 41st annual gathering of industry representatives and government officials involved in the fields of targets, UAVs and range operations. The theme for this year's symposium is "Contributions to Transformation.' Sessions will address such topics as 'Looking to the Future," "Test Requirements," "Ranges and Targets, and "UAVs and UCAVs." It will conclude with "Military Programs and Requirements."

November 17-20 3rd Annual Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Technology Conference & User Group Event #41 lO Oenver, Colo.

This conference serves as the Forum for all industry and government organizations that are adopting CMMI. The conference will address such topics as "Transition to CMMI for SW-CMM and EIA/IS-731;" "Implementation Strategies;" "Assessment, Appraisal and Evaluation Methodologies," and "Lessons Learned." Tutorials and seminars also will be included. Last year's conference drew over 320 attendees from government and industry.

December 2-3 Homeland Security Roundtable Event #4680 Arlington, Va.

This symposium will take a step back from the past 20 months of national homeland security efforts that included the implementation of new planning concepts and guidance, reorganization and integration of agencies, progress and challenges. This year, the focus will be on new intergovernmental and government/private sector challenges and the system implications that are involved. The expanded dimensions planned for homeland security create new concerns for government at all levels: further expansion of security measures into daily life; manpower, equipment and funding shortages; implementing information sharing, command and control systems, and strategic coordination across many autonomous entitles.
