Event marks man's 100th birthday.

A gathering of friends and relatives of Walter Dennis was held June 19 at Churchill Estates to honor Dennis' 100th birthday.

Dennis was born June 17, 1904, in Albany. He is the oldest survivor of seven children.

He graduated from Albany College and received his master's in business administration from the University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon. The university was founded in 1876, graduating its first class two years later. The University of Oregon is one of 60 members of the Association of American Universities. .

He survives his wife, Nellie Dennis, from the Triangle Lake area.

He has a son, Don Dennis For other uses, see Don Dennis (disambiguation).

Donald Ray Dennis (March 3 1942 – March 22 2007) was an American middle relief pitcher in Major League Baseball who played in 1965 and 1966 for the St. Louis Cardinals. Dennis batted and threw right-handed.
, who was born in Eugene and still lives here with his wife, Betty. Walter Dennis has two grandchildren GRANDCHILDREN, domestic relations. The children of one's children. Sometimes these may claim bequests given in a will to children, though in general they can make no such claim. 6 Co. 16.  and two great-grandchildren.

He was superintendent of schools in Rogue River Rogue River

He, with his family, developed seven properties starting with a mom-and-pop motel and gas station in Roseburg. Next, he developed five motels and a restaurant in Eugene, and another motel in Salem. His most notable position was as president of Best Western.
