It opened its doors in 1985. It is located on the recently named Paul Shaffer Drive in the city's north end. It is home to the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra. . Over 450 guests attended the event, which is aimed at raising funds towards the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium, a performing arts centre An art center or arts centre is distinct from an art gallery or art museum. Event organizers are confident this year's event once again attained its goal of raising $25,000. Since its inception, A Wine Affair has raised over $150,000 for the auditorium. A semi-formal evening, A Wine Affair offered guests an opportunity to taste wines from all over the world, pair their wine selections with gourmet nibbles and participate in both silent and live auctions.
