Evans Systems, Inc. Announces Board Changes, Resignation of Chief Financial Officer.

BAY CITY, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 21, 2000

Evans Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:EVSI) announced today that it has named Matt Hession of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to replace Carl Schafer who has resigned from the Company's Board of Directors. In addition to Mr. Schafer, the Company announced that Julie Edwards has resigned her position on the Board, effective immediately.

Additionally, the Company announced that its Chief Financial Officer, Richard Goeggel, has resigned from the Company and the Board of Directors as of August 15, 2000, to pursue other business opportunities. The Company has established a selection committee made up of Mr. Hession and Mr. Losavio, as outside directors, and CEO J.L. Evans, Sr. to begin the search for a new Chief Financial Officer. In the interim, Company Controller Charles Way and current personnel have assumed the responsibilities of Mr. Goeggel.

Matt Hession (48) is a 1976 graduate of Nichols State and has founded over 10 companies in his professional career. Matt most recently served on the Board of Directors of Amedysis, Inc. (AMED). He is also a member of the National Turnaround Management Association.
