Eurosam.

Eurosam has been notified of an order for two Aster-based Paams air defence systems by the French and Italian governments to equip their respective head-of-class Horizon frigates. The fire control system is built around the Alenia Marconi-Thomson Empar. The initial armament of the two frigates comprises 120 Aster 15 and Aster 30 missiles. An earlier contract covered the production of the system (with BAE Systems Sampson radar) for the Royal Navy's Type 45 frigate.
