(Around the World).In November November: see month. , Euralcom, a casting and forging firm headquartered in At Oss, The Netherlands, made an agreement to acquire 89.5% of the shares of Lajous Industries, a diversified diversified (di·verˑ·s machining and assembly firm headquartered in Compiegne, France, and 59.5% of the shares of R. Brea, a diversified casting and machining company headquartered in Montlucon, France. Euralcom has acquired six metal component companies in France in the last two years. Eualcom casts aluminum and magnesium magnesium (măgnē`zēəm, –zhəm), metallic chemical element; symbol Mg; at. no. 12; at. wt. 24.305; m.p. about 648.8°C;; b.p. about 1,090°C;; sp. gr. 1.738 at 20°C;; valence +2. components via squeeze-, thixotropic- and die-casting processes. The firm also performs machining, welding welding, process for joining separate pieces of metal in a continuous metallic bond. Cold-pressure welding is accomplished by the application of high pressure at room temperature; forge welding (forging) is done by means of hammering, with the addition of heat. and assembly operations. |
