Eucharist as Sacrament of Initiation.

Nathan D. Mitchell of the Pastoral Center of Notre Dame is a gifted writer. His Eucharist as Sacrament of Initiation, Forum Essays, Number 2 (LTP, 154 pages, $6 paperback) focuses on the neophyte's participation, after baptismal birth and subsequent mystagogy, in the paschal meal.

Mitchell has a poetic sense that will invite and delight readers: "for Jesus, conversion is a call to creativity; faith frees the heart for fancy; and salvation always starts as a surprise." Much here to ponder.

Fr. William C. Graham will soon leave New York for Winona, Minn., where he teaches a summer grad uate course in pastoral liturgy in the Institute in Pastoral Ministries.
